Does the IS in photo lenses really help prevent shaky video?
 
I am going to be shooting some DSLR footage with 5DMII inside a car. Looking at an IS wide angle. Do IS lenses really help with the shake?

My 24-105L lens seems to work good with the stabilizer on so yes.

Yes! Very helpful. There aren't many wide angle lenses that have IS though.

IS does help but if you are using a wide angle lens is not needed so much.
