Little late to this thread, but I wanted to mention my experience shooting a beach wedding. We all waited inside all day in the air conditioning, then headed outside about an hour before the ceremony. When we tried to turn on our Canon XHA1 cameras, they gave humidity warnings and would not turn on. Ceremony missed. Luckily we had other cameras that worked.

Just a heads up that if you are in one of those beach/humid environments, be sure your camera has plenty of time to acclimate and get rid of internal condensation.
