Who's seen this 5d MK3 VS video
Thoughts? I can't believe the difference to be honest! |

James,
If you look at Phillip Bloom's review, the issue becomes useability. I would rather have the mkIII where I could trust that it was going to operate and had easy battery replacement and understood the workflow than have to wrestle with the Cinema Camera to get that better image. Bill |

This doesn't mean the 5dIII produces a unusable image, you just need to sharpen it a bit. (but it will never show the same fine detail on wide angle shots the bmc can show) |

But with all this amazing equipment and support, they go and shoot that piece about the girl in the car. I'm not sure I've ever seen such a pile of poop. So while the comparison video makes a compelling argument, they go and throw it away.

The biggest advantage of the 5D3 is that you can easily buy one off the shelf. While a handful of BMCCs have been delivered to the likes of Philip Bloom there is still no ETA for when if ever they will be shipping to regular purchasers.

Re: Who's seen this 5d MK3 VS video
The biggest advantage in my opinion is the absence of the cropfactor. Anyone try to shoot documentary style with a BMCC or GH2? The (lack of) a wide angle is a huge problem for doc work...
