PAL Footage Anybody ?

I was wondering if anybody out there has any PAL footage that i can look at to test the program Atlantis from www.dvfilms.com

http://www.dvfilm.com/atlantis/index.htm

I am in the market for an xl1s but i live in the usa, which means that i would need to convert all PAL video to NTSC for work... but i want the extra resolution for possible transfer to film later on... and thus would like to see the Quality first hand of the conversion that this little app makes...

any help would be appreciated...

Thanks in Advance

How much do you need. I have some footage of the XM2 in PAL format in Frame Mode if you want it?

Brian Gauthier August 1st, 2003 04:08 AM

I need anywhere from say 30 sec to about 1 minute...

if you know about hotline I have set up a server to transfer footage...

Thanks again...

Do you need Frame Mode or regular interlaced?

Jonathan Richards August 1st, 2003 04:14 AM

Oh - and I have access to plenty of space on myown server. So you could download it via FTP.

that would be really cool.... thanks...

can i do it from a mac ?

Brian Gauthier August 1st, 2003 04:28 AM

i forgot to say which mode... could you do both for me or would that be too much space on your server ?

Jonathan Richards August 1st, 2003 04:39 AM

I'm uploading a 140Mb piece of DV-PAL Frame Mode Footage. If you can get this OK then I'll upload some interlaced stuff as well.

thanks you soo much... its really going to help in my decision making as i really feel that a PAL camera will give me a better picture to go to film...

would i access the clip via your web site ? and i am sure it is but is the clip a full res dv clip ?

Jonathan Richards August 1st, 2003 05:17 AM

I'll give you the details when the clip has finished uploading. I'm on ADSL and so only have at 25KB/s upload speed but 60KB/sec download.

Yes, it is a full res Apple DV Codec PAL Clip straight from FCP on a G4 Mac.
