GL2 Standby/Lock question

What is the advantage of using the standby/lock lever to control power to the camera v.s. the regular power swithc on the top? If I lokc my GL2 I can use the top power switch to go to playback, but not camera. What is the advantage of this?

Walter,

When you use the standby lever, all the setting changes (white balance etc) will remain. If you power off with the other switch, you loose all that.

humm, now that I think about this, what happens if you have the cam locked and cycyle the power switch to playback, then back to camera? does it still retain settings, or do you then lose settings?

The only way to "review" you footage without loosing your settings is to use the "Rec-Search" buttons...
