"No Regrets" shot with a GL2

Here's a neat little DV short by Michael Matzdorff, shot with a GL2.

Good writing Michael. I especially enjoyed the "I wanna live without regret." line. The end was very reminiscent of "Final Destination" - such a horrible flick.

I'd be interested in knowing how you did that effect. I'm assuming it was a locked off cam with one shot of the car and another of the poor guy. Also, did you use a stabilizer for those tracking shots? If so, which one? Anyways, good work!

Devin, how would you combine the 2 images without chroma'ing one out? I've been having trouble with this for some time. I've filmed 2 shots with different images, and wanted to merge the 2, with minimal success. I'm using Premiere 6.5 by the way.

That's one messed up film...

Ross, sounds like you need to check out after effects. I tried to avoid it for as long as i could - due mostly to the intimidating interface! One day I just decided to dive in though, and I've never looked back. I couldn't cut video anymore without it.

In AE you can use the pen tool to create masks and easily composite video. I cloned myself in AE with moving masks just to test the program out (and myself for that matter) with much success. I suggest you check it out. I know this topic is kinda off from the thread, but hey, I'm here to help! Lemme know if you need some advice or tips!

Very good looking film...

Anyone know how you would get such a strong film effect as was found in this film, apart from lighting/frame mode, anyone know what was done in post?

Thanks:)

I thought the film was a good one!
