HELP! Cannot plug the LANC cable!

I have my xm2 finally.
But..
I cannot plug fully the 2.5 stereo mini jack to the LANC connector.
(our homemade zoom controller)

With Sony's D8 this wasn't a problem.

The documentation says, this is a standard LANC connector.

Is there any difference between a 2.5stereo mini jack and a 2.5stereo mini jack??

Should i use a mono jack? But we need the power too!

I am confused.

Are you saying that you've built your own LANC controller using a stereo mini-plug?

Yes, it's not a hard work.
Just some precise timing, and we know the codes for variable zoom, manual focus, etc.

i don't want make more force, because my cam is very new, and
don't want broken the plug into my cam :(

So, i think this is a standard 2.5mm stereo mini jack:

Re: Re: Excellent LANC INfo!

Good News!

My problem is solved!
With a grater i have lower a bit the thickness of the jack.

It seems, here in Hungary, standard is not a standard.. :)

thank you
