Smudge on Lens

Hey guys,
I was filming yesturday and realized there was something weird on my film. I was afriad it was another dead pixel or something, but luckily it wasn't. There is a smudge on my lens, and I was wondering what I should use to get rid of it. What type of lens cleaner should I buy and what shouldn't I buy? Thanks!

Glen

Glen,
The general procedure and materials for cleaning a video lens is no different than those for cleaning a still camera's lenses. Get a good bulb blower and brush to clear solid material away as a first step (even if you can't see any debris). DON'T use compressed air. Then, if necessary, use a lens cleaning solution (such as Kodak's) and lens tissues to clean the smudges off -gently-. Go to a photo shop in your area for these supplies.
