GL-2 ND filter

Does anyone know the strength of the built-in ND filter on the GL-2? I looked through my manual and could not find it.

Thanks

Bill,
You could work it out by exposing a scene with the ND filter on in manual mode, then switch filter off and see how many stops you have to close down to get the correct exposure.
I might try it for you later when I get home...

Offhand, I believe it's approximately 2 stops.

I did my own little test on this a few days ago and it seemed to be about 2 stops.

Bill, as far as I know, every step up/down is 1/4 of a stop. So 8 steps should be 2 stops. Is that true guys? I need to be sure of this...

Not sure what you mean by the 'step', but half stops are shown in the v/finder. So f2 to f2.8 is a whole stop. f4 to f4.8 is a half stop. If you're filming at f4 and want to film at f5.6 you've got to double the amount of light in the room.

tom.

Thanks Tom. I'll have to check the viewfinder with your information.
