Powered Microphone question

In the GL2 manual, page 40, it say you need a " Condenser Microphone with a build-in power suppy" but it also says "You can connect almost ANY stero microphone with a 1/8 inch plug"
Could someone suggestion a Mic with built-in power supply as I can not find one. Any information on this subject would be helpful.
Thank you

Hello Thomas,
Basically, you need a mic that has a battery rather than phantom power. There are many, many alternatives. For a decent, relatively low-cost on-camera directional mic I use a Sennheiser MKE300. Of course you can also use the Canon DM50 which links-up to the camera via that special hot shoe.

Mic suggestions will depend on what you are shooting and you rbudget. For loud venues even dynamic mics can work.

Some stereo mic sto consider include the AT-822, Sony ECM-MS957 and MS-907.
