Compatability with XL series?

Hi, Guys...

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if, on a multi-camera shoot, the colors from a GL-2 would be a match to one of Canon's XL series cameras?

The lighting would be the same, as all the cameras would be stationary, shooting from different angles.

Am I asking for a post-production nightmare here?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Others will have more experience with this than I. However, my experience is that the cameras will differ in two areas: sharpness and warmth. The GL2 will have a naturally sharper image. The XL1S will have a slightly warmer image. I think you'll find that it's easier, and more effective, to adjust the GL2 to match the XL1S.

But the bottom line is that yes, they can be used together pretty well with a bit of pre-planning, adjustment, and consideration of your scene material.

Good luck.

You should find that the cameras will match very well - though there might be a little amount of tweaking to be done, but not always.

Canon to Canon is a lot easier than Canon to Sony..... (though I have actually done that in the past)

Thanks a lot!

This sounds good, as being able to use the XL is going to save me some headache and money.

I knew this would be the place to turn for an answer! :-)

Thanks again!
