More help maybe?

Austin,

The point to be made is that any battery can power your camera during most situations. Some will last longer than others, some cost less than others. The problem is that some are not made to the high standards that the manufacturer requires. They may put out the required voltage, at the required amperage, most of the time, but they may lack protective circuitry to protect the delicate electronics of the camera.

You may have heard stories over the last few years of cell phone batteries blowing up on people and injuring them. Some of these batteries were even OEM batteries, but were not made to OEM specs.

I’m not going to say that that cheaper battery will not work, because it very well may. But how would you feel to have the warrantee on your $5,000 camera voided because you saved $25.00 on a battery.

Most all batteries will be just fine, but if you get the bad one, what happens then.

Mike
