Howdy

I'm new to the board. I'm primarily a still photographer, but I do video work when asked. I have a GL2. something is very wrong with the camera. here are the symptoms:

Extremely dark images in viewfinder.

Extremely dark images in monitor.

No playback capabilities (shows image of winding tape), no change in imagery

No digital time coding.

No apparent iris or shutter adjustment.

No drops, no impact, used on tripod.

What's wrong and where do I get it fixed?

Richard

You didn't fill out the location field in your profile when you registered at DV Info Net. Without knowing where in the world you're located, it's impossible to tell you where the proper Canon service center is to send your camera.

Try click on "Controls" above, then click on "Edit Profile" under the Control Panel on the Left.

Is this something that just suddenly happened to your GL2 after a period of working properly?

The Canon service center in New Jersey is probably closest. Call the Canon 800 number (800-828-4040 I think) for details on service, and perhaps some trouble shooting tips.
