Matching Colors
Hi,
Can someone please tell me what would be the best way to match 3 GL2 colors? I have bought 3 of them and one of the camera's color is a bit pink. Please help me. Thanks |
How pink are we talking? If it's way off, send the camera to Canon.
Assuming the problem is somewhat minor, here are some things to do/check: 1) Are you white-balancing to the same object on all 3 cams? 2) If so, maybe shift the color phase a tad toward the green on the cam with the pinkish color. 3) If the problem persists, just fix it with color correction in post. |
Assuming it is not just a white balance issue, can you correct it using Custom Preset -> Color Phase?

If you have FCP I would use the scopes in the Capture window. With your reference camera's FW signal, bring up the vectorscope and waveform monitor, take a screen grab, and A/B that with the FW signal from each of the other two cameras (manipulating the in-camera settings, to the extent that you can) until they sorta match. Just one quasi-scientific way to do it, if you don't want to trust your eyeballs. Just remember to save those in-camera settings.
