Laptop to TV via Canon Optura XI

I have bought I1394 firewire cable to transfer video from my camcorder to laptop.

Now my question is can I play/transfer videos from my laptop to TV using Canon Optura XI, with the help of I1394 cable. Say for e.g. If I paly DVD on my laptop and wants to transfer same to TV using camcorder.

If not then what are the other ways. My TV don't have S-VIDEO cable input. It has only usual audio/video input.

Please advice.

Thanks!

Regards

I play videos direct to my tv using a three lead wire (red, white, yelleow). My tv has the 3 connections. as soom as i plug it in to tv, the video starts playing.

Thanks for the reply Eron!

I don't have connection in my laptop to go to TV, but it has i1394 socket...so was just wondering if it is at all possible.

Kevin Sturges wrote something about going from laptop to TV a while back (I forget where it is located here). But it seems to me that going direct into TV will give you best quality picture (if you have recent model TV).
Cheers,

Atul,

I do that all the time. I use the Optura Xi as a go-between with my laptop and my HDTV. I use the TV as a color reference monitor to check the direct-out of my timeline while I'm editing my video in real time. Fantastic stuff!
