Optura iris fully open at startup.

Hi,
I bought a optura10, a year back from b&h. I started facing this problem recently. About some 5 % of the times when I switch on the camera (in record mode, either card or tape) the image in viewfinder and LCD display is fully white. Looks like the iris is fully open. Any objects that is very cose to the lens (~1 cm) gets focused. If I switch to play mode the recorded image is displayed properly. I have seen this issue raised by couple of others in other forums also. Has anyone know any solution for this. It occurs mostly in outdoors. After some switched off time the camera get altright by itself. I tried switching it ON with/without camera lens cover , with different combinations but could find a soultion.

Thanks in advance,
Nanda

Sending the camcorder in to Canon Service for a complete check-up is your best bet.
