Shipping in March 2008. Not yet announced in the Canon USA site, but here it is at Canon Inc. in Japan:

It records MPEG-2 in standard definition, and HD video recorded in AVCHD codec, PC and Mac compatible, USB2 connectivity. Blu-Ray compatible plus DVD-RW and dual layer discs; full-size as wells as Mini-DVD.

Weight: 1.9kg and dimensions : 179mm x 70mm x 275mm.

I’ve known about this unit when they first announced it but my heart almost stopped beeping when you put Blu-Ray in the header. Although it’s compatible with Blu-Ray players, it doesn’t record to Blu-Ray, just DVDs. I’ll be very happy to be proven wrong. After Sony and Panasonic released an AVCHD disc burner, I guess Canon didn’t want to be left out.
