Canon HF100 Owners - Question about Rattling
I have a HF100, which made a rattling noise inside whenever moving the camera, however, the sound stopped when in record modes. So I really do not know what it is.
I had Amazon replace it, and the 2nd one has the same rattling noise. Just wanted to know if this was normal. Performance has been unhindered. |

Yes, it's just the OIS element sliding around when the power is off. Perfectly normal.

Oh Mannn! I just shook mine: click..click..click. ..as long as it works.
The thing that scared me: that mechanical lens cap! I'm around sand all the time and I couldn't get a UV filer over it fast enough.

I guess it's a bit odd that I hadn't noticed it with my HF100. Maybe I'm just not so sensitive to it. However, I have a dSLR with OIS, and it does make an odd chatter noise when shut off with OIS on, and it's supposedly pretty normal.

Is the dSLR an Olympus e-510? If so, I've noticed that too on that model.
