ND Filters and DOF

Hey - saw the Vimeo look at using DOF using ND Filters on the SR-11.

I'm a little confused. ND Filters don't -increase- DOF, right? It's entirely a function of apeture; it's just that ND Filters allow you to increase the apature without increasing the amount of brightness in the picture - correct?

Correct, ND's allow you to shoot with larger apertures (more open) which will make DoF shallower.
