Macro shots of some ants and a spider

Here are a couple of macro shots of some ants and a spider I shot today. Since they move so fast I did the 60i-to-60p-to-24p conversion.

Looked good. Was that with out any closeup len's? I love macro videos and pictures. I have a bunch of bug videos on my 2 video sites .

Just the built in lens. Would like to have an extra macro lens and a wide lens.

Is the vignetting occurring naturally due to the lens, or is that an effect you added in post?

Wes Vasher October 8th, 2007 08:43 AM

Post effect John.

John M. Graham October 8th, 2007 06:45 PM

I feel stupid for asking; I couldn't imagine it having a level of vignetting like that, but I just had to be 100%! The footage looks very cool, Wes.

Wes Vasher October 9th, 2007 07:06 AM

Don't feel stupid at all... I'm addicted to the vignette effect lately. :)

Jason Pierce October 9th, 2007 07:25 AM

Nice footage!

How'd you manage to keep the tracking shot of the spider so smooth?

Mark Ross October 15th, 2007 10:26 AM

Too lazy to look right now... Is there a macro lens available for the HV20?

Very, very nice, Wes...

Isn't that technically a "daddy long-legs"? ;)
