Thanks for posting some native samples! When it comes down to it , that's where the 'proof' is: in the image. I am trying to decide on a small HD cam for an upcoming vacation, and really like the size of the Panasonic SD5 , and older SD1. The AVCHD codec sure looks like it blurs the image a significant amount, I think the SD5 may still be a good choice for me because of this equalizing factor. I'm curious what you will find out about the low light noise of these two. Certain kinds of noise can be dealt with very effectively with extra post processing, but the AVCHC codec may block up the noise in an unrecoverable way, I'm afraid. If possible, I'd love to see a dim room scene, even 2 seconds would tell all ... -Les |
