Field Mixer with HV20

I would like to add a mixer to my HV20 setup, for boom mic and maybe wireless lav input. 2 channels looks like it would be fine so Im tending towards Mixpre. Anyone tried this? How exactly would this all work and connect? Thanks.

Here's a recent thread on the subject with lots of great info; there's some discussion on using the Mixpre and SD302 with an HV20.... Basically, get the best audio gear you can afford within your budget and shooting requirements with a little headroom for potential growth and flexiblity...

Does the mixer have to portable, battery powered etc.? or will you be able to keep it in one spot, and plug it into an AC outlet?

Are you going to be running mics, for example, interviewer, guest, audiance (ambient sounds) etc.

Are your mics going to need phantom power, now or in the future?

Tip: If it's a real mixer that you need, check out music store outlets. Don't get sucked into that $2k for a Mini-Pre amp stuff.
