Sony tapes does play on the HV20 ?

... That's the question:

Does the Canon HV20 will play HDV tapes recorded on a Sony camera (ex. Z1) ?

And vice-versa?

Thanks
Carlos

Yes, except the Sony won't read the Canon's 24p tapes.

I disagree. I have FX1 and HV20. I just pulled 24p tape out of my HV20, stuck it in the FX1, and it played fine. After all, its still 1080 60i stream. I also stuck the FX1 tape in the Canon HV20. Played back fine also. This was all HDV, but may be different for DV.

My mistake, you're absolutely right! I mixed up the A1's 24f with the HV20's 24p. I just TRIED a 24p tape in my HC1, and it worked! Next time I'll double check my facts before I post. Thanks for the correction!
