DIGIC DVII processor and HDMI output

Hi all
Sorry if this has been asked and answered before but does anybody know if you get 1920x1080 or 1440x1080 res when you do a live capture via HDMI to bypass HDV and capture 4:2:2 clip?

First I thought it'd be 1920 width because HV20's CMOS is the full raster sensor, but Canon's ad says that their DiGiC DVII chip (used by pro and consumer HD cameras) processes image at 1440x1080 4:2:2, which leads me to suspect that you'll get 1440 width image via live HDMI stream.

Increased chroma sampling and bypassing HDV artifact are big boost in quality but I was hoping that resolution would also full 1920 pixels wide. If you've tested HV20 with intensity card for HDMI capture can you confirm the resolution?

Thanks

AFAIK, capturing by HDMI it's 1920x1080

That's one positive answer. Thanks.
So I guess the image is captured as 1920x1080, but then the question would be if it's true 1920 or simply a 1440 expanded to 1920.

I downloaded Derek Green's screen grabs from his thread (http://dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=94079) and examined the uncompressed frame.

Attached image is the 400% blow up of the diagonal line from the red drill of 'uncompressed.tif' original. I wonder that subtle staircasing implies that the image was processed as 1440x1080 internally. I have to admit that it's pretty negligible but I guess I'm just curious about what the live HDMI out really is. ;)

It is definitely full 1920... as is been discussed many times on the boards. 1920x1080 at 4:2:2... i think the staircasing you're seeing, if that is indeed an uncompressed file is probably because it's 4:2:2 8bit and not 4:4:4 10 or 12 bit. Nonetheless the HV20 going out HDMI at 1920 4:2:2 is an exceptional image for the price, i've never seen anyone deny that.
