does the vl-10li II work on the HG10?

the vl-3 light doesn't work well with the wide angle attached.

which diffuser would i want to buy with it, if any?

Yes the VL-10 will work on the HG10. You'll need to buy a BP-9xx series battery to power it. The light itself doesn't weigh very much, but with the battery attached it'll really change the overall weight and balance of the camcorder.

Diffuser for Canon light
 

Have been looking everywhere on the web for clip on diffuser for this light. The light is way too bright when up close. It annoys people, so am looking for a snap on diffuser. I use this light with a Fig Rig..It is pretty good when augmented with other lights, but it needs to be toned down a bit!!

I used to have GL-2. So I use VL-3 for close up interview. Then have VL-10 on flash bracket.
