A month of no footage off my HV30
I've searched and searched, but can't find a solution.
All I know is I can't get HDV to capture on my xp machine and I have an item in my device manager av/c subunit that is my HV30 and it's all that I can figure is the problem. I'd if nothing else like to not have any question marks in my device manager. Anyway thanks if someone could point me in some type of direction here. |
If you already tried to update the drivers to no avail, try another firewire card if you can't import any footage from any camera. It might be a fried card.

Card is fine.
Camera is fine. Software is fine. Can capture DV just fine. I can't find a driver. I've been looking for a driver. I'd LOVE a driver. If I had a driver, my problems would be solved. Thanks for the shot in the dark though. |
Which video editing software application are you using?

Sorry to seem stubborn, but it really is a driver type issue. It would seem to be a windows issue about some missing files in the driver cache, but I don't know what files they are or where I could find them.
I can see the HV30 with an error about no drivers installed in the device manager. Vegas, Premiere, hdv split all say there is no device available or recognizable. |
Hi Samuel...............
The only suggestion I can make is this:
Uninstall the current 1394 driver (Device Manager - Hardware). Re - boot the machine, ensuring the HV30 is in HDV mode and connected to the Firewire port and switched on during re - boot. Follow the instructions to re - load the 1394 drivers. Check Windows Update to see if there is an updated driver beforehand. May just do the trick. CS |
It's just my one computer, so I'll just keep using another one until I can figure it out(just they're render boxes in a closet and I hate going in there just to capture footage). I've tried reinstalling the firewire driver already. It's just that one item in the device manager that has HV30 in the ID for the device info with no driver installed that I somehow know is the only problem.
Thanks for the help. |
Just to finish out this thread. It was due to corrupt Windows files and a reinstall of windows fixed the issue
