Which lens hood, folks?
Thanks!! :)

Hi Jackie,
I just made my own. Easy, cheap, and works as well as any you can buy. Check post in "DIY Lens Hood" thread for Pics. I've now made one out of a more solid Plastic VHS case, it's much stouter than the stiff cardboard of my original one. Harold |
Nah, I'd rather pay $15 and get a factory made one. :) Any suggestions for that?

Hi Jackie,
Not sure you'll find one that cheap, but do a search on this forum to see a number of the "Buy it yourself" kind. I've had a couple BIY types for my past Cams, and I always found that my DIY's did a better job at what those things are susposed to do - knocking down/out the refelctions on your lens. At least that's been my experience on the 10+ Cams I've had over the last 30+ years. Harold |
Fotodiox has a 43mm silver (Item number: 360121855321) or black lens hood on eBay for $12.45 shipped. I use a black 37mm on my HF11 and it works well.

I bought this one for my hv30
took forever to arrive from overseas. well made etc, but it does block the onboard light if you plan on using it. I wanted a hood for two reasons, one for what it normally does, and two for a second lens cap. I installed a clear filter before the hood. |
