HDV modes>FCE 3.5.1 workflow ???'s
 

Greetings.

I got for my birthday the HV30!!!!

I've read all seven pages of this thread and the info is great. Can I ask if this workflow would be correct?:

HV30 HDV30P Cinema mode (or not)

Transfer to Mac Firewire, using Final Cut Express 3.5.1 easy set-up HDV AIC 1080i60.

I this correct? There is also a 720p30 set up. Not sure when I should use that. My guess is lower resolution.

If I look at the properties of the timeline, field dominence should be at none?

Am I correct to assume the above is exactly the same if I choose to shoot straight HDV (60i) and edit in FCE 3.5.1?

OK. I don't own a single HD TV. Still have the big Sony crt. How will the above two workflows look on that set, and if you say awful, what would I need to do to make that. Is this an eport issue using Quicktime? My plan is to eventually get a HD tv. So I want to edit thinking in the future, if you will.

I'm off to buy a firewire cable....
