Canon Vixia HF S100 exposure lock?

Anybody know of a way to lock down the exposure? Since there's no manual control setting it jumps around as the light changes. Not a deal breaker but it does look amateur-ish.

In the manual describes locking the exposure. Does this option not work?

Exposure Lock

Yeah, what you do is set the exposure in the quick pop-up menu and then don't switch it back to auto it will stay locked if you are in P/TV/shutter mode. Beware if you switch to some of the auto modes it will reset. I went through the exact same thing.. It takes a bit to get the hang of, but when you do it will produce some incredible video. When I was shooting I was semi satisfied. Then I hooked it up to my plasma with HDMI. All I can say is WOW..

Thanks. That should do the trick.

I also loaded a chip directly into a plasma TV and the stuff I shot over the weekend was great! I covered a concert with this and the HDV Canon A1. The HDV camera was locked down for a single view of the band and I used the HFS100 for close ups and crowd shots. Can't wait to see how the two videos cut together.

The concert was in the afternoon so there was lots of light. I'll be curious to see how it works at night.

Again, thanks.
