I'm assuming on the first vid the first images are from the HV10?

If that's so, it seems a bit sharper than the HC3 and treats color a bit better.

But the difference doesn't seem huge...

On BOTH videos, the first part of the footage is clearly better and sharper than the second part. If that's from the HV10, then it shoot stunning video!

HV10 Vs HC3

The first part is 14 mb.sec. 1440X1080. The second part is 22.5mb/sec. 1440X1080. I thought both cameras were 22.5 mb/sec.

Wow! Huge difference!

I think the HC10 will be amazing. Picture quality wise it will be as good as the XL H1, at least in good light.

Robert Schiebel September 2nd, 2006 01:45 PM

Jung Kyu, thanks for the HV10 footage.
But I interested in shutter effect and Mpeg artefacts, therefor fast moving objects would be necessary. If you come again into the shop, please move the camera in left-right direction.

Dave Ferdinand September 2nd, 2006 02:27 PM

There's a slight cut in both vidoes where I assume he changed from the HV10 to the other camera. It would be nice to have a subtitle but I guess he posted the raw m2t footage without any editing.

As Robert says, fast motion would be good to check out how the camera deals with panning.

Peter Macletis September 2nd, 2006 03:16 PM

I still have positively no clue what parts of the footage are from the HV10...

Jack Zhang September 3rd, 2006 01:29 AM

The HV10 vs H1 link's not working for me anymore.

But anyways, MY JAW DROPPED WHEN I SAW THE FIRST PART! If only the UX1 and SR1 have this sensor!!!

I wish an AVCHD Camcorder would have this sensor and shoot in 1920x1080 (which AVCHD can) instead of HDV's lowly 1440x1080!

And throw in 8GB SD cards for storage too! Then it would be a nice little solid state camcorder :)

Thanks a lot for posting this Jung Kyu!

I am very sure that the second part of the "hv10 vs hc3 footage" is the HC3. If you look at the white text you see black "haloing/outline" around it, this was one of the things that I did not like about the HC3.
The HV10 is looking amazing, definately something I will consider buying.
If anyone could upload the second clip it would be most appreciated, I did not get a chance to download it.

Thanks again!

Best, M.

Yes, and then you can't edit or do anything with the footage.

Jack Zhang September 3rd, 2006 01:28 PM

^You're forgetting Vegas 7.0.

Anyways, according to the specs, the HV10 uses 2070K effective pixels during HDV recording.

Specs translated into English

Peter Macletis September 4th, 2006 02:58 AM

Yes, Vegas 7... but it will not be with a workable workflow speed... AVCHD will be traumatizing on systems resources and rendering power no matter how fast the CPU...
