Chris,

For those of us with extra firewall and pop-up protection, could you please set the sticky as a direct PDF file? Thanks

Unforutnatly, Canon's server has authentication stuff to prevent direct linking.

Nobody can host it anywhere else. That document is Canon's intellectual property which is protected by strict copyright law. If someone is foolish enough to attempt to re-distribute it on another server, they're just asking for litigation. I will not allow such links to be posted here anyway.

A couple of mouse clicks and a temporary override of firewalls, etc. will get you the download direct from Canon USA.

You need to enable popups, to download it.

Check Amazon.. nope, manual isn't submitted yet.

Just ordered mine. I went with the Hoya filter package. But I also need a good protective filter because I'll be shooting in a lot of nasty conditions. Any recommendations? Also, is there a waterproof housing for it yet?

Thanks a bunch for this link, Luis... I'm merging your post with our "sticky" thread for the manuals.

Thanks Chris, with so many of us being anxiously waiting for the HV-20, I thought the manual will keep us busy until April. I for one, could not get an answer as to where the sensor for the remote was located until I read the manual as opposed to the HV-10.

I'm sure lot of questions will start streaming down now.

If the remote came with a FOCUS option this thing would have been perfect! (Since there is no focus ring.)

Oh well, it's still a great little camera. I can't wait to get it!

If You Are Having Trouble With Download

Hi Chris and all -

I too couldn't get the download link to work and I'm a geek... but since that is what it is, I resolved the link back to the actual file on the server...

http://downloads.canon.com/cpr/softw...V20_manual.pdf

I don't know how to turn the above link active (little help Chris?), but you can cut and paste and bypass all the popups and weirdness (I kept getting a message that the site wanted to close the window... yes or no... neither option got me anywhere!

I'm a Sony guy, but the footage I've seen from the HV10 has me interested - got to see what the 20 has to offer - now to find time to read the HC7 and HV20 manuals and figure out to buy one, both or what?!

DB>)

PS - Chris - seems like you're getting so much traffic the servers are acting up a bit - getting errors out here and pages won't display or are really delayed - time to add an extra hamster or two? Go for one of those quadcore gerbils maybe?

If You Are Having Trouble With Download

Hi Chris and all -

***** sorry about the multiple postings - the server hiccups and reports the page can't display, but apparently the upoad went through the first time...

and I see that the link automatically goes live when I post, now that's nifty! *****

I had the same problem. Turned off the pop-up blocker on my browser and the original link worked like a charm.
