is there any way to make the HV10 take audio from the RCA audio input while shooting?

I don't own this cam yet, but i'm planning to get one.

I want to know if the cam takes any audio from the RCA input, if i plug something there. Like an external preamp or something.

Thanks.

Are you sure that is not an output only jack? That camera did not have external sound capability. Would be cool if you could..

As far as I can tell from what the manual says, no.

The RCA cord will only input analog audio in the DV (not HDV) mode while in the VCR mode.

Here is a link to the manual if anyone wants more details.

Actually, someone was able to make a mic adaptor by tearing apart another mic for the HC3, so why not the HV10?

There is no hot shoe on the HV10. To do the same for the HV10, you would have to mod the camera itself, rather than going a safer route and modding an attachment.

Wrong features for this camera. If it supported audio IN, I'd probably have bought it.

Like a few others, I have written this camera off due to the audio issue.

Sure hope Canon adds a mike input to this pup.
