NLEs only have one capture 'module'/device/plugin active at a time, DV or HDV, so I seriously doubt you could capture mixed DV/HDV in a single pass. Even multiple passes the NLE may get very confused; from what I saw the firewire bus appears to reset a bit when the camcorder plays back or ffwd's past the different format. (which makes sense, since DV camcorder vs HDV device are different to the computer OS let alone the NLE.)
The timecode may well break as well since the metadata is different. I don't see the point of trying to mix the two.
Strongly suggest to use two tapes if at all possible to save headaches. |
