Canon HV footage - but can you guess which?
 

HV10 or HV20?

Hmmm ... 50/50 chance of getting it right if you used just one camera. But it looks to me like you may have used both of them together then changed to progressive. One of the shots where you were focused close and the other where it was far away were taken while the subject was walking toward the light. The I.AF may be good but a guy like me wouldn't be able to frame it that fast at the apparent distance you took it. The PAL HV20 just came out so its possible you have it, though the PAL HV10 has been around longer. So I'd like to say the wide shot was an HV10 and the telephoto shot was an HV20.

Whichever it was, it's a nice video. I like the softness of the sun's rays and the four points on it. Did you put a filter in front of the lens?

are you exporting to a full quality movie, and then using quicktime to export that using the apple tv preset? or just exporting out of fcp to specs that fall within the atv's limits?

i'll say hv10. if it was a hv20, i would expect a little bit more noise. but just a little. and the hv10 gave a smoother, more unified look.

Jason, you've found the HV20 is a bit noisier than the HV10? I've got both and really haven't seen that.

only in low light situations. the gain has been increased from the hv10. i have a hv20 myself since the the pros out weighed the cons. also i can get rid for the noise in final cut and match hv10 footage, so i end up with a choice. you wouldnt notice it unless you had serveral comparisons with hv10 footage. I spent weeks A/B'ing both. almost went insane. anways, yeah.
