HV20 cam bag ?

While I looked around and saw some suggestions, I picked up a Lowepro e110, and it seems really snug with the HV20 in it..

The specs say its this size..
Size (Interior): 6.3W x 3.3D x 4.3H in. / 16 x 8.5 x 11 cm.

I am pondering return it, looking for something a touch bigger to better able to have a spare battery and couple tapes. This model seems like it would be a really tight squeeze for anything more than the camera.

Any thoughts? - Thanks

i really like the lowepro nova 3, it's got enough space for the hv20 and all it's accessories, plus a 5pk of tapes and the teleconverter. it can also be belt mounted and has a rain cover built in.

Small zippered canvas lunch box from Walmart- about $5.95. Comes in variety of colors, is nondescript, discouraging thefts, if sitting in your car or in plain view. What theif wants to steal a lunch bag...

I bought the Lowepro Edit 120+ and I think it's perfect.

You have to watch to buy the plus version because it has an additional detachable storage compartment.

I fit in 6 cassettes, a filter kit, the remote, 1 extra battery, a battery recharger with car adapter and all video cables.

It's still pretty handy and very robust, I love it :D

Thanks for all those suggestions, looking into them and see what works size and budget wise...

I have the lowepro Edit 140. I bought it at BestBuy. I originally wanted a smaller case, but now I consider this one to be perfect. It fits the camcorder very nicely, and I can also put my digital elph in there too. I can fit some extra batteries, tapes, etc. in the side and front pockets. Water resistant case.

I am looking at the Lowepro E120, it should be the next size up, though I have not made a decision yet. the 140 sounds like it maybe a touch to large for my specific needs, though if I find one to look at, I could change my mind.

The E110 I started with just seemed too snug a fit for the HV20, and didn't leave much room for tapes or extra batteries.

I also went with the Lowepro Edit 120+ for my HV20. It's a good size if you don't have too many accessories to haul around. The feature that actually sold me was the belt loop, which can come in handy on rare occassion.

I have the KATA C-56. It is holding very nice the cam, extra battery, extra tape, and the charger if needed.

I use the "Targus TVT004US Matrix Camcorder and Video Camera Case". It fits *perfectly* the HV20 (like it was made for it or something), and it has an extra pocket for extras. I got that for $9 and I used it to go to Sierra Nevada. All worked nicely.

These are all good suggestions, this should provide some useful info for other new HV20 owners that maybe looking for a case.

I ultimately went with the E120 from LowePro. I wasn't looking for a case that would carry everything, as I wanted only to carry the camera, and some tapes, and an extra battery, while visiting places and then re-charge/re-stock back at whatever motel I might be in.. instead of carrying all the accessories around.

It was not too spendy, around $26, if I change my mind in the future, I have not spent $40-50 or more for a case I didn't care for.. However, I think this will do the job, I'll know more for sure after an upcoming trip..

I saw a Sampsonite one last night at WalMart for $14.95 (or was it 12) that would be near that. Looks like a camera bag though. But it had all sort of strange pockets for the junk we all carry and it looked like I could squeeze my Raynox 50WA in the box in with it (I have a HC7).

I also bought the Walmart/Samsonite for $14.95 and love it! The HV20 along with the attached wide angle lens (Canon WDH43) fit snugly in the main compartment, and I have just enough room for two extra (extended) Canon batteries, a pack of 3 filters (UV, ND, polarizer), an extra DV tape, a cute Hoodman collapsible sun shield made to fit the widescreen LCD, and a battery charger.

The case is snug, non-descript (to discourage thieves), cheap, very well made, and easy to find at Walmart.

Highly recommended!!

Nice call - it is even "insulated" and fits all the bits!
