What DVD recorder are you using?

Those that are burning DVDs direct from your HV10/20, what recorder are you using? Curious, as I can not get my Sony to work. Doesn't matter what I do, camera settings wise, the DVD output is the same, choppy stuttering useless video.

What other brands/models are you guys using?

Thanks,
Tom

You mind me asking what are your settings on the camera?

Are you using the composite cable or the firewire? Are you recording in DV mode or HDV? WHat mode are you sending in? Sorry for all the questions, but this is driving me nuts.

Thanks
Tom

I assume that you're talking about a desktop SD recorder and not an HD recorder. You would need to lock you HV20 with SD Lock in the playback menu settings for the desktop player to recognize the video coming from the camera. I'm not sure what interface you would have to use but it might be composite. In that case, I would assume the recording you make will be at VHS quality.

Using firewire (DV) into the standalone recorder. Have my HV20 set to "DV locked" on the output. I get full device control over the HV20 using the remote on the Memorex. Quality of the DVD's is quite good (Better than my DVX100). I have compared DVD's created using the Memorex to HDV captured/edited/downconverted in Vegas 7 output to SD DVD and the Memorex DVD's are just about as good (without all the rendering time.)
