HV10 owners:has anyone thought of pulling the mic apart?

I was thinking about this the other night. Depending what's under the shiney metal grate, I would think a mic jack wouldn't be too hard to solder into the internal mics wiring (two wires correct?). Create a new plate that has the internal mic, the jack, and maybe a switch to go between the two? Anyone have a trashed HV-10 I can play with (there was a broken HV-10 on eBay a couple weeks back, but I forgot about the auction and it ended before I could bid)?

Yep, I've had that idea too. But I'm not brave enough to open up my brand new HV10 quite yet.

Broken HV10's have been going for nearly half the cost of brand new ones, so I avoided those auctions as well.

A 3.5mm jack could be fairly difficult to fit in there without it sticking out, since it's the length of the jack that could be an issue. I suppose you could have a "dongle" sticking out, or perhaps route the jack somewhere else that might have room. Seeing as how the Optura 600 had both Microphone and headphone jacks, I can only surmise that the lack of them on the HV10 was purely a marketing decision vs. an engineering one.
