Use of matte box on XF cameras.

Chris or anyone in the know, do you have any knowledge that you can use a matte box on these cameras? I ask only because the way some auto focus sensor was placed on the A1 series made it somewhat of a challenge to mount compendium.

Hi Jonathan,

It's the same as the previous XH series camcorders... the I.AF module that sticks out of the right side of the lens housing is just one of two separate auto focus systems. If the sensor in that module is blocked by a wide-angle adapter or a matte box, you still have the normal through-the-lens auto focus capability.

Hi Chris and thanks. So there must be a way to deactivate that sensor and use either the internal lens focus or better. manual focus.

On the XH Series it was a menu selection, to switch between Normal AF and Instant AF.
