It appears that most NLEs know what to do about spanning clips anyway but isn't it easy enough to use a concatenate utility (e.g. Split & ConCat on the Mac & doubtless there is a Windows equivalent) if you really want to have one monstrous file?

What do you mean Nigel, if I want to have one "monstrous" file? What's monstrous about a 6 minute clip? To get one complete 6 minute clip I get 2.
