Size without microphone holder?

For purposes of transporting/shipping the XF300/305, what is the size of the camera if you remove the microphone holder?

Thanks
Rick

I have mine sitting snuggly in a Pelican 1520 with foam padding if this helps (sans mic holder). You couldn't put it in anything smaller length and width wise.

Hi Rick,

What type of transport system (bag or backpack) are you thinking? Are you wanting to take the camera on flights?

I didn't see your post til now, so I'm away from my XF300; but I bought this bag:

Petrol PDRB-3 Dr. Petrol Bag PDRB-3 - B&H Photo Video

The inside is "okay" for the XF cam; meaning that it's snug in there. I had to move the dividers around, but got it so the cam fits. But with the height of the camera, the mic holder does hit the top when closed. (B & H lists the interior as 17.7 x 9.8 x 10; with 10" being the height) I'm sorta thinking of exchanging this bag for a slightly bigger bag:

Petrol PDRB-4 Dr. Petrol Bag - for DV or HD Camcorders PDRB-4 - (which has these interior dimensions 21.3 x 11 x 10.4" (LxWxH)

Ironically, I've never owned Petrol bags before; but a friend has one and I was impressed enough to buy it.

I'll go and measure the cam when I get home.

Best,

XF300 bag

I am looking for a bag for the the XF300- I would like a roller bag that I can carry on the airplane. I need some extra room for a 1.6x tele extender, a small backup camera (canon s21) and a microphone.

Hi Rick,

Sorry I didn't get to this earlier.

I measured the HEIGHT of the XF300 WITHOUT the mic holder and it's approximately 8 1/2".

(With the mic holder it's listed as Dimensions (WxHxD) 6 x 9.3 x 15" (15.3 x 23.6 x 38.2 cm)

Hope that helps,
