32GB card: how many minutes at 35Mbps?

Hi there,
I'm sure I'll see the answer somewhere in my viewfinder once I open the 32GB card package and plug it into the XF100, but I don't want to open the package until I have a sense of how much time this card will give me...
at 35Mbps, and
at 50 Mbps
Can someone kindly advise, or direct me to a chart somewhere?
thanks,
Malcolm

Re: 32GB card: how many minutes at 35Mbps?

My recollection is about 210 minutes at 50mbps for a 32 GB card, but don't quote me...not quite sure I remember correctly. But the recording durations at various bit rates and CF card sizes are in the user manual, near the end.

Re: 32GB card: how many minutes at 35Mbps?

Recording times for a 32GB Card (taken from my xf300 screen)

24p at 50Mbps = 82 mins
24p at 35Mbps = 116 mins
24p at 25 Mbps = 158 mins

30p/60i at 50Mbps = 81 mins
30p/60i at 35Mbps = 114 mins
30p/60i at 25Mbps = 156 mins

60p at 50Mbps = 78 mins
60p at 35Mbps = 107 mins

Hope this helps!

Re: 32GB card: how many minutes at 35Mbps?

Thanks guys: I guess I'll have to invest in another card!
While on the subject of CF cards (I purchased a SanDisk Extreme)... how can I best ingest the card/footage into my MacBook Pro? The MBP has an ExpressCard slot; do I purchase a CompactFlash ExpressCard slot adapter? Any particular sort?

Re: 32GB card: how many minutes at 35Mbps?

Sorry, what I was remembering was some of the battery times for the XF105 (which are significantly less than the XF100).

From the Specifications in the User Manual:

Maximum Recording Time (approximate figures based on continuous recording)

16 GB CF Card
50 Mbps: 40 min
35 Mbps: 55 min
25 Mbps: 80 min

64 GB CF Card
50 Mbps: 160 min
35 Mbps: 225 min
25 Mbps: 310 min

So I'd gather that a 32 GB card will handle:
50 Mbps: 80 min
35 Mbps: 110-115 min
25 Mbps: 155-160 min

FedEx just dropped off my XF105 this evening, not even out of the box yet. I got 2 x 64 GB Sandisk cards to go with the camera; hopefully by this weekend I'll have some observations to put in a separate thread.

Re: 32GB card: how many minutes at 35Mbps?

Hi:

For some reason I have:

1080p/25fps 50Mbps: 82min
720p/50fps 50Mbps: 79min

Doesn't make much sense, Mbps should be Mbps and that's it.
