xf100 Moire pattern !!! really bad

Just bought a xf100 and put it on auto mode right out of the box to see what i would get out of the camera. When i looked at the footage on the computer the Morie was off the chart, almost unusable footage! anyone else have this problem with this camera. Never thought this would be this big of a problem with this camera. Any sugestions?

Hi Jason,

Are you viewing footage on a PC monitor or HD tv? Try turning the sharpening down to -7 or -8 in the camera. That worked for me, and the resolution is still excellent.

Are you viewing the footage at 100% on your monitor, no scaling? Can you provide a screenshot?

Yes, I found a moire problem too. Fortunately it is not a frequent phenomenon, which is clearly visible on the display of the camera. In this case, it should be slightly defocus, which is the usual method of solving problems with fine details with moire.

well i copied a picture profile from here on the forum and all the issues went away. I turned the sharpness down and had no problems. I have shot about 25 hours of footage with no problems except it stops recording at 5:13 secs and starts a new file....
