XF300 footage: Advice on importing the MXF files with incomplete card structure

I have several files in their own folders (AB1001, AB1002, etc., etc.) but no longer have the ORINAL full file structure of the card (that is, I don't have the "Journal" or CLIPS001 folder.

Is there a way to trick FCP into seeing the files in Log and Transfer or do I need to purchase an MXF converter to Quicktime?

Thank you!

Tim I use Premiere Pro, but I have seen reference to an FCP plug-in for MXF files. I have no idea how it works

Yes, no question. I import with FCP all the time (but with whole, intact "CANON XF" folders).

This question pertains to just the individual clip folders within the original (lost) casing folders. (The two original exterior folders, with the "Journal.MIF" file and "CLIPS001" folder no longer exist, and so FCP won't read it.)

Just wondering if there was a fix for that (besides buying an MXF transcoder and doing each MXF file individually).

OK Tim, and I thank you for your self restraint at my 'bleeding obvious' comment re the FCP plug-in :-)

Unless I have set a clip prefix, all my Clip folders are named CLIPS001 CLIPS002

The Journal file is always called INDEX.MIF and having just opened a couple in Notepad, they are complex files. There a few threads here that discuss it, but how on earth you are going to fake the INDEX.MIF file I have no idea.
