Extended Warranty?A wise choice?

Considering Canon only gives one a year warranty and it's limited at that does it make sense to opt for an extended warranty such as Mack for example?

It doesn't seem to take much to be forced to cough out serious bucks if for example your tape jams/won't eject or whatever else will fail after the year is out.Do any of you have an extended warranty and if so,who provided it & why did you pick them over someone else?

Does the warranty period start after Canon's ends or does it run concurrently? Is there such a thing as a deductible? What should I be aware of when choosing one and what's reccomended?

Thanks,I'd rather be safer than to potentially have a emptied wallet!

It's a one year parts and labor warranty for everything except the tape transport, which is 90 days... which isn't any more "limited" than any other major camcorder manufacturer (Sony, Panasonic, JVC). Just wanted to point this out.

I just bought my xh a1 and happen to purchase a mack 4 year warranty from BHptoto.com. They are very reputable and I have bought from them in the past. I assume they have a fairly good service provider as well. That is why I bought it. Also this is a fairly good size expense (just to own one) as you have said. A Mack Warranty is good. Here is the website http://www.mackcam.com/
