CINE-LIKE_D equivalent on the XH-A1

CINE-LIKE_D equivalent on the XH-A1

Which Gama curve setting on the XH-A1 is similar to the "CINE-LIKE_D" Cinegamma mode on the DVX100a. According to the DV's Rebel Guide book "CINE-LIKE_D gives the most exposure range presented in the cleanest, most color-correction-friendly image."
I'm trying to find the equivalent on the XH-A1. All my color manipulation will be in post by he way.

Is there already a preset that is best for manipulation of color in post. I searched already but couldn't find one. Or is it just the "Factory" setting.

Thanks

It's a preset GAMMA curve.. i.e., the curve "filter" in which the image is processed and compressed

You'll never get an HDV camera to get this kind of Dynamic Range, you can come close with good luminance, but you'll never get the same kind of response as the chips and lenses are entirely different. Lens plays a big part as you'll notice that the DVX / HVX don't have the kind of colour fringing in high contrast edges as the A1/XLH1 has... I believe thats from compression though.

Your best bet would be to increase your master ped (ie blacks aren't as black), increase your knee (high end peak filter), drop your colour saturation (i.e. undersaturate), and do the rest in post.
