My first post here,and proud to own Canon Hx A1 and of course to be a member in this forum.
My first try ,i just got my camera and this is my first shoot ever,kind of Steven style,i shoot in 25 (i own pal one) i did the cut in FCP!

I'm new here too, but I just thought I'd drop a reply to your post.

I thought the misty images were beautiful. I especially liked the CU berry shots and the perspective of the bench at the end. Are you using the Vivid RGB preset?

Also, if you don't mind if I pick your brain a bit...
• How exactly did you prepare your video for the web? I can't seem to retain the quality when I do a web version...

Yes i think that was VividRGb Preset i just wanted to experiment nothing special

For the video I used compressor with a H264 codec and i scale it a bit because the half size was about 100 Mb,i don't have enought room on my space!

The music is from Smartsound "Cinematique Library" and yes it's not free (lol)

Just an observation....

I'm not sure but..you may have some dust on your lens at the 3:00 position. Again, I'm not sure but it looks a lot like the kind of spots/dust that I see on my still cameras and the dust spot(?) doesn't move from scene to scene.

This might be dumb, but is Compressor only for Apple? And if so, is there a similar product for PC? I am also having trouble preparing my footage for web as i seem to only get large files with so so quality or small files with horrible quality...

Sorenson squiz does a great job converting to web! yoiu must give it a try,also not that i use as H264 codec wich is also available for pc.

So what would you export your timeline as from Premiere Pro is you were working with HDV to then import it into sorenson to compress it for web?

I think the best workfkow is to edit in HD then export to losless codec (Animation codec for example) quicktime then in sorensson chosse the H264 with best setting,of course don't forget the rezise to half or so,sorenson3 codec is also fine,you have to give it a try!
