First shots with Canon XH A1

Hi,
I'm brand new to this forum. I just bought Canon's XH A1, and as a matter of fact I bought it based on doing a lot of research here (and after a lot of agonizing between the Canon and the Panasonic HVX). I love the Canon and I joined this forum because everyone is very helpful and its great to hear from a community in the same field.

Anyway, (after that lengthy introduction)... Here are some of my first shots with the Canon.

I'd love to hear any thoughts on it, but I'd REALLy love to hear any tips or techniques on how to get my video to look better on the web. I'm using Mac, FCP and Flash 8.

Thanks!
Sean

Our clip look similar a bit not because we used the same preset but because we have a lot to learn! LOL!
Anyway i can't give any comment regarding your work because i'm also learning,i use to make special effects working with Maya,Shake,Realflow,no i bought this camera cause i need to shot from times to times some greenscreen stuff, and now i fall in love with this camera after i saw some sample here in the forum especialy from Steven Dempsy wich i thank by the way for his great work.

Cheers!

Very nice shots Sean. I have an xh a1 as well - very crisp in the evening - how did you lose the grain so well. I have nd filter off - what did you have the shutter speed set at?

Thanks Todd.

It was a beautiful sunset with a lot of light on this particular day. I did use the camera's ND filter. Mainly when I shot towards the sun and not when I was shooting away from the sun.

I hate to admit it, but I don't know what the shutter speed was. I'm not as hip on the shutter speeds as I want to be yet. I had the camera set at AUTO and then adjusted the iris to visual taste.

That's what I like about the camera. The images looked pristine. Even better before the Flash conversion. Now if I could get THAT noise out of there for future shots...

Hey Farid,

I do a lot of work in 3D. I do an animation called "Pencilman"...click on the "Pencilman" button on my site if you'd like to check out some of those animations. I've won a few awards with it...!
