Strobing effect on roses when slowed down?

When I am shooting footage of red roses that has any motion in it, like tracking or panning I am getting a weird strobing effect on the reds when I slow the footage down, I was curious if this is normal or how do I correct this. I am using the factory setting 60i with no color preset active.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.
