ghosting?
 

ive just got an a1 and have been making up a preset to film in murky grey weather(i film kitesurfing) all the colour levels are pushed up high and its giving me the look im after but is ghosting alot, if i flick through the other presets they are fine

which is the best to adjust to reduce the ghosting without loosing too much of my bright colours?

Use your vectorscope to make sure your chroma levels are in spec.

NR1 settings can induce a sort of ghost image on moving objects - is that what you are seeing?

yes its kind of a ghosting/motion blur type effect, as i said ive only just got the camera so im not very clued up on it yet

turned the nr1 off and thats cured it but theres a bit of noise now so i will just have to experiment to find a happy medium

Correct....I recently just started to shut any NR off and the ghosting is no longer visible.

Turn up your Coring, turn on NR2. This is probably all you can do I'm afraid.

The NR2 noise filter will soften the image, but it does not have the motion blur of NR1. NR1 uses a temporal noise reduction scheme and that introduces the motion blur/ghost effect.

Check out some of the presets (in the corresponding section here) for low light conditions. They can give you some hints as to directions/settings to try.

And don't forget to consider shower shutter speeds. That might meet your need with less problematic artifacts.
