Deadcat for A1 cam mic.

What deadcat do you use on the A1 cam mic when the wind is getting up?
Cheers.

I made one myself for Shure VP88, and after selling the mic I just took scissors and cut it shorter, attached that to XH-A1 mic with a rubber band around the shaft. Works fine, this DEAD RAT of mine, and cost nothing. Or maybe c50 for the material from sewing shops discard rag basket + 5 minutes with needle...

Petri,
Off topic, but I've been watching RAID. Is/was there a special Espoo business development district?

You mean on the cameras built in mic?

Yes, if you mean Innopoli complex near the University of Tecnology in Otaniemi. There are actually a lot of hi-tech companies there within a few mile radius, including Nokia corporate HQ. And more coming, construction sites everywhere in that area.

Yes Noel, is there a specific brand/shape that fits and works as well as those things can in a medium breeze?
Cheers.

I haven't tried it enough to really recommend it, but the "deadcat" that you can order for the Sony PCM D50 field recorder mics seems to fit perfectly on the built-in A1 mic. It costs about $45, and has good-quality 1-inch fur.

You can use any foam or deadcat dedicated for handheld microhones such a Shure sm58 and it will fit perfectly.

lol I was soooo tempted to google a picture of a dead cat and post it, but that'd be bad and I don't wanna get banned. =)
